Imbolc means in the belly, it is a cross quarter day, a Celtic holiday of antiquity. It is celebrated on February 1 and it is the first stirring of spring, it is when we start seeing nature slowly wake up from its deep cold slumber. Imbolc is the day we celebrate new beginnings and the power of transformation and it is mostly equated with the Goddess Brighid. A Celtic Goddess revered for her benevolence, her healing qualities, Goddess of the Forge, inspiration of poets and bards and ruler of the hearth and of peoples' hearts. She is a Goddess that made the transition from Goddess to revered saint and is considered the patron saint of Ireland. Brighid was my first Goddess, the first one I dedicated to, and spoke vows to, The first Goddess who took residence in my home and in my heart. For me Imbolc is a season not a day, a season of devotion, and promises to the great Goddess of fire and sacred wells. It is a season where I contemplate what needs to change in my life and how the Goddess can help me with her powers of transformation. She places me on her forge every Imbolc season and like a fine sword that gets beaten, pounded and transformed by fire and finally polished. This is what the Goddess does for me throughout this sacred season. She helps me transform into the best version of myself. During this sacred season of Imbolc I am offering a 4 week devotional class entitled Brighid's Devotional Journey that starts on February 05, by Zoom at 5:00 PM PST and 8:00 PM EST. You will find more information here on my site under Classes. I hope you will join me so that I can share with you how I work with this amazing Goddess that transforms lives.
